THIS WEEK: Romans 3:4b-6

Review: Romans 3:1-4a

Romans 3 Memorization… ENCOURAGEMENT

Why be enthusastic about memorizing Scripture? Today, our Almighty God entrusts His Word to all believers in the gospel – you and me. His Word that reveals Who He is, who we are in Him, the importance of knowing and abiding in Him, how to worship and serve Him, and His eternal plan for humanity. What an incredible calling! When we make the effort to memorize Scripture, we acknowledge the importance of it in our lives.

Knowing Romans 3 will increase our understanding of the gospel of grace and the way of true assurance. It also provides powerful truth to be shared with those who are not yet concerned about their own eternal destiny, discomforting truth that may lead to their bending the knee to Jesus Christ… now.  We are to be advocating the gospel to all people, especially those who have not embraced it. Romans 3 examples this for us!

The Romans 3 verses we are memorizing this week through A Passion For His Word ministry at Lighthouse: Romans 3:1-4a (ESV translation)

“ 1Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? 2Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God. 3 What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? 4By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar…” – Romans 3:1-4a

***

A few tips for memorizing a whole chapter:

1)    Memorize the version you study in… using your own Bible to memorize from is most effective

2)    Read the whole chapter every day… you will become more and more familiar with the words as you continue in memorization

3)    The first couple of verses will be the hardest… don’t give up!

4)    Memorize very small sections at a time (even 2 or 3 words at a time)… then add it to the portion you have already memorized before moving on to the next small portion.

It is amazing that we have been entrusted with the very words of God. May He establish His Word in our hearts and minds and richly bless it!!!    Because He First Loved Us, Holly

“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” – Romans 11:29

May we know the gospel, to comprehend the amazing love of God and be equipped to share the gospel and God’s love with others, that they might know Him also.  Willingly His…Holly
