WEEK 49 (year 2) MEMORIZATION: 12/5/2010
The Bible encourages us to hide God’s Word in our hearts. It is a great relief against temptation. The more ready Scripture is within us, the greater advantage we hold in conflict and temptation… and we follow the example Jesus provided, employing Scripture to resist the attacks of Satan. Satan is made most ineffective when he cannot find an easy entrance to our hearts, when it is filled with the Word of God. 1 John 2:14 says, “…because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.” Yes… a grand advantage to not only hold the Word in our hand, but have it implanted within our hearts!
“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” – Psalm 119:11
